Detailed Synopsis: Victim Carl Philip Hopwood approaches Quincy's boat late one night while Quincy is entertaining an airline stewartess. Quincy is left to determine the cause of death and solve the mystery surrounding his disappearance in the LA county morgue.

Related Los Angeles County Coroner's Notes:
Carl Philip Hopwood - Age 46 and 5 mon. White male; well developed and well nurrished. Body shows severe bruises of the abdom. Examinaion of the extremidies shows a superficial laceration of the right wrist with a small avulsion of skin and fat measuring approximately 0.5 cms. first laserations must have got that at the boat. There are multiple recent bruises ...and opening the rib cage... ..both arms with areas of hemorrhage beneath the pleura. The abdominal cavity contains approximately 1200 CCs of liquid and clotted blood. The organs occupy the normal relationships to one another. The heart is of normal weight and size and configuration. The valves and coronary arteries are unremarkable. here is no fibrosis noted. There are a few sub-epicardial hemorrhages. The kidneys, ureters, bladder are unremarkable. The small intestines show numerous hemorrhages within the wall and the appearance of contusions with intramural hematomas. Supplemental: Very heavy lethal concentration of hydrocarbon cluster absorbed into the molecule of his fat. COA: hydrocarbon toxicity. Changed to hydrocarbon poisoning with bone marrow depression and hemorrages on his body which made it look like a beating.

Thomas Thomason - (M-C-26) - Cause of Death : Cardiac Arrhythmia. He had evidence of heart problem. The valves were clear and there was no scar tissue. Perfectly healthy, normal 26 year-old male. Evidence of cocaine with traces of potassium cyanide were evident on the body.
